I am James Bohlmann. I have been into Star Wars for quite some time and up until recently have been solely a massive gamer of Star Wars related games. However I have decided that it is time to move up a notch and try for what is next. Thus, joining the 501st. Since I do not have any costume as of yet and the main 501st forum says I need to contact the areas DML DZ 9983, seeing as I live in the Mishawaka/Granger area that is whom I should contact. He said I should sign up on the forums. So I did. I may be keeping in touch a lot both here and on whitearmor.net for a costume however I need pricing first and have sent out mass e-mails for that.
Hopefully some day you can see me on a march with you, hopefully being in the march and not just a by-stander, but that will be a long ways away.

I am thinking of a stormtrooper, however I am over 6'2" tall and have quite big feet. It will be difficult to find anything standard stormtrooper in my size. Something more exotic perhaps....

Ah crap. I just got an e-mail for 501st approved armors and prices. They average 1 thousand dollars. I got laid off at the end of summer because of college starting back up. I had been unemployed for nearly a year because I was trying to find a job while I take classes because I am taking a minimal amount of classes. Since I got laid off, and other expenses I have 1 thousand in the bank, but that is it.

Perhaps I should have thought about that before I started but I kept reading posts saying that online things are several times more expensive so I thought it was more like $300.

I am sorry to everyone, especially the DML, but I may have jumped the gun.

there is one costume that i know that can be done for at least $100 or less - a tusken.

Hey james welcome! Glad to see you made it one here. And Hitman I wish tuskens were that cheap to make. Then I would get a better profit margin when I sell them. Lol
James any costume you get can be costly but you can make it cheaper by buying kits and buildng it yourself. As well as getting part and buildng the costume ober time to spread out the expense. We're here to help my friend. Lets get yiu in some armor.

You can do several different costumes for less than $1000, but you'll still probably have to spend at least $300 but probably closer to $500, but come to some troops and hang out and have fun.
