Hello everyone, I thought it was time to introduce myself. My name is Ana. I'm married to Rafn. In fact he's the reason why I got into Star Wars. I had never seen any of the movies in full up until about two years ago. I'm currently strongly considering making a Jawa, mainly because i'm only 5'1" as well as Zam Wesell. Hopefully I will be able to start putting both together very shortly.

It's within our affordability range and I thought it might be a good option.

I had thought about going with the real thing, until I really thought about how much extra weight it would be. I don't really want to carry around 3-6lbs or better, for several hours during an event. Especially given that the Jawa costume is heavy/hot as it is and any extra weight would put an extra strain on my body. I'm a type 1 diabetic and I don't handle heat/cold extremely well. I thought the replica would make a good and lighter weight blaster....

The resin would make it way lighter. I would also try to use pvc pipe and light weight aluminum for the barrel parts. Also you can totally make a sling or holster for it to help with carrying it. When I see you guys Saturday I'll give you as much info as I can without talking your ears off. Lol

Yeah, that's what I was thinking or sculpt/mold/cast the other pieces myself. Awesome! I'm sure we could both use the advice/tips!
